Sarah Carroll

Writer

Sarah (she/her) is a queer writer and actress with a passion for writing works that push for queer female representation through a comedic lens.

 

Sarah's notable stage credits include Jenny in Neil LaBute's 'The Shape of Things' Mary Warren in Arthur Miller's 'The Crucible’ and The Bacchae with the Q’s Young Artist Program. Sarah has trained in Australia with the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) and The Hub Studio and overseas in New York at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 2019 Sarah placed in the top 10 out of 175 in Vancouver’s Artist2Artist showcase. In 2020 Sarah was the first recipient of The Pack Theatre (LA) diversity scholarship for Sketch Writing and Improv. Sarah also co-wrote and is the lead in a comedic web series ‘The Realists’ with queer actor Ajay Banks that is in post-production for 2021.

 

Sarah is currently developing a queer short film with Australian actress Nadia Townsend slated to enter production in late 2021 and is also training in improv and sketch with The Groundlings while completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Creative Writing. 

 

Sarah is very excited to be working on this project that is pushing for diverse stories to be seen on stage within the musical theatre cannon all while learning, connecting and growing with a beautiful team of creators and to be part of something really special.
