ELEVEN O'CLOCK THEATRE PRESENTS

A NEW MUSICAL INITIATIVE

the breaths in between

CANCELLATION NOTICE

It is with great sadness that we announce our upcoming season of The Breaths in Between (scheduled for 12-16 January 2022 at the Motley Bauhaus) has been cancelled due issues relating to COVID-19 and the current Omicron Wave in Melbourne. We have made this difficult decision to ensure we are looking after the health and safety of our cast, production team and any potential audience members. If you have purchased tickets to the show, the venue will be in contact shortly to arrange a refund.

We were beyond excited to share this show and the stories of its creators with you all. Working on this project has been a bright light in an otherwise dark year, and we are so grateful to have gotten to create something we are genuinely proud of. To our incredible writers, our phenomenal production team and brilliant cast, all we can say is THANK YOU. Thank you for trusting with us, for coming with us on this journey and thank you for being endlessly generous with your stories. We will continue working to share your work with our communities when it becomes safer for us to do so.

about the project

The Breaths in Between is a brand new Australian Concept Musical that tells stories of love, joy, and the everyday challenges of existing as an intersectional human. From romance and diagnoses, to proclamations of culture and queerness, we are proud to present the original new work of ten diverse writers that explores our connection to our partners, friends, family and ourselves.

Eleven O’Clock Theatre’s debut production, The Breaths in Between explores stories that expand the musical theatre canon and, in doing so, create moments of familiarity, movement and responses in individuals who do not often see their experiences represented on musical theatre stages. This Concept Musical centres stories about LGBTQIA+, PoC, neurodiverse and body-diverse individuals.
