Oliver Ross

Writer

Passionate about telling trans and neurodiverse stories, Oliver Ross has worked as a writer, designer and dramaturg on over 80 creative projects across film, theatre and advocacy. With a love of worldbuilding and adaptation, he studied arts at the University of Melbourne (English/Theatre & Ancient Worlds), reviewed through Shakespeare Oz, and got to take part in Screen Australia's Developing the Developer initiative. Recent work includes lighting design for Breeders (La Mama) & Catching Jack (Big Big Big, MICF), interning in set design with Salty Theatre, writing for upcoming queer webseries Wicked Women, and rough cut consultancy on feature film The Dry through Arenamedia. He's passionate about trans advocacy, programming for tilde film festival and coordinating support for 40+ TGD groups for Transgender Victoria and the Department of Premier and Cabinet's SPARK program. With musicals starting his love of theatre, he can't wait to learn from the project and other creators about how to create stories that better reflect its communities!
